O Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (VVD), literalmente o Partido Popular para a Liberdade e Democracia, é um partido liberal neerlandês, sendo um dos três maiores partidos dos Países Baixos.

O partido foi o único membro dos "gabinetes púrpura" liderados por Wim Kok a permanecer no poder com o governo de Balkenende I em 2002, apesar de uma grande queda na sua representação na Tweede Kamer (câmara baixa do parlamento). O partido foi fundado em 24 de Janeiro de 1948, no seguimento da tradição dos partidos liberais Liberale Staatspartij (LSP) e Partij van de Vrijheid (PvdV).

Em 2 de Setembro de 2004, o deputado do VVD Geert Wilders deixou o partido após disputa com o presidente do partido Van Aartsen. Ele optou por se tornar um partido de uma só pessoa (em neerlandês: eenmansfractie) na Tweede Kamer. O VVD participou do Governo liderado por Jan Peter Balkenende da CDA, que contava ainda com o D66.

Nas eleições Gerais de 2010, o VVD saiu-se como o principal partido dos Países Baixos, conquistando 31 cadeiras, uma a mais que os Partido Trabalhista (PvdA). Em Outubro, Mark Rutte anunciou a formação do governo^[2] em parceria com a Aliança Democrata Cristã (CDA) e com o PVV de Geert Wilders, sendo que este último optou por não ocupar cargos no governo.
