Plesiothyreus Pilsbry, 1891 é um género de pequenos gastrópodes marinhos com um morfologia superficialmente semelhante e lapas, incluindo uma concha pateliforme. Apesar dessas semelhanças, o género está incluído na família Phenacolepadidae.[2]
