Ian Matthew Morris (Stoke-on-Trent, 27 de janeiro de 1960) é um professor de história e arqueologista britânico da Universidade de Stanford.

Ele cursou a escola em Stone, Staffordshire e graduou-se em História no ano de 1981, recebendo o diploma de Bacharel de Artes em História Antiga e Arqueologia da Universidade de Birmingham.

Dissertou sobre Arqueologia Clássica em 1985 no St John's College, Cambridge, recebendo o título de Doutor em Filosofia (PhD) com a publicação de sua tese de doutorado intitulada "Burial and society at Athens, 1100-500 BC".^[1]
