Fator de crescimento fibroblástico 7
Fator de crescimento de queratinócitos é uma proteína que em humanos é codificada pelo gene FGF7.[2][3][4]
Função
A proteína codificada por este gene é um membro da família do fator de crescimento de fibroblastos (FGF). Os membros da família FGF possuem amplas atividades mitogênicas e de sobrevivência celular, e estão envolvidos numa variedade de processos biológicos, incluindo desenvolvimento embrionário, crescimento celular, morfogênese, reparo tecidual, crescimento de tumores e invasão. Esta proteína é um potente fator de crescimento específico para células epiteliais, cuja atividade mitogênica é exibida predominantemente em queratinócitos, mas não em fibroblastos e células endoteliais. Estudos de homólogos deste gene em camundongos e ratos implicaram papéis na morfogênese do epitélio, reepitelização de feridas, desenvolvimento capilar e organogênese pulmonar inicial.[4]
