Diana Scarwid

Diana Scarwid (Savannah, 27 de agosto de 1955) é uma ex-atriz norte-americana, mais conhecida por sua interpretação de Christina Crawford em Mommie Dearest (1981). Ela recebeu indicações ao Oscar de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante por Inside Moves (1980) e ao Primetime Emmy de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante em Minissérie ou Filme para TV em Truman (1995).

Scarwid possui mais de 70 créditos em filmes e televisão, incluindo Pretty Baby (1978), Rumble Fish (1983), Silkwood (1983), Psycho III (1986), Extremities (1986), The Neon Bible (1995), What Lies Beneath (2000), Party Monster (2003), The Clearing (2004) e Another Happy Day (2011).

Scarwid nasceu em Savannah, Geórgia, filha de Elizabeth (nascida Frizelle)^[1] e Anthony John Scarwid. Ela tem três irmãos. Diana mudou-se para Nova York aos 17 anos para se tornar atriz. Ela se formou na American Academy of Dramatic Arts e na Pace University simultaneamente, concluindo o programa duplo como aluna de honra.^[2]

Sua primeira estreia no cinema foi em 1978 no filme Pretty Baby. Em 1991, Scarwid apareceu em A Noite do Caçador (1991). Ela interpretou Rose Kennedy em JFK: Juventude Imprudente (1993) . Em 1995, Scarwid apareceu nos filmes The Cure , The Neon Bible , Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain e Heat , e interpretou Bess Truman em Truman .

Em 1996, Scarwid teve papéis em Trial By Fire , If These Walls Could Talk, Critical Choices, The Angel of Pennsylvania Avenue e The Outer Limits.

Em 1998, Scarwid apareceu em Arquivo X, Ruby Bridges, From the Earth to the Moon e A Will of Their Own.

Scarwid começou o novo século interpretando Dianne Barrie no telefilme Dirty Pictures (2000). No mesmo ano, apareceu como a amiga excêntrica da personagem de Michelle Pfeiffer em Revelações (What Lies Beneath), de Robert Zemeckis . Em 2001, fez uma participação especial em Law & Order como uma analista de impressões digitais acusada de homicídio culposo e, em 2003, interpretou uma mãe intrometida em A Guy Thing. No mesmo ano, interpretou Elke Alig em Party Monster. No ano seguinte, estrelou como Karen Tyler em Wonderfalls. Retornou à franquia Law & Order em Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, no episódio intitulado "Head".

Em meados dos anos 2000, ela teve papéis em Read Thread (2005), Valley of the Heart's Delight (2006) e Local Color (2006). No mesmo ano, fez uma participação especial como Jeanette Owens em Prison Break, após o que assumiu o papel de Isabel na série de TV Lost. Consecutivamente, ela participou de episódios de outras séries de TV, incluindo Cold Case, Pushing Daisies e Heroes.

Scarwid também atuou no filme de TV Another Happy Day (2011), de Sam Levinson.
