Biografia
Grant nasceu em Gadsden, Alabama.[1] Ela cresceu em Wilmington, Carolina do Norte, e se formou na New Hanover High School em Wilmington em 1967. Seu pai era especialista em aves e vendedor.[2] Sua mãe trabalhava como gerente da Comissão de Segurança de Emprego da Carolina do Norte e era ativista da Emenda de Igualdade de Direitos. Grant credita à sua mãe a inspiração para se tornar atriz.[2]
Grant se formou na East Carolina University em 1973 com um Bacharelado em Belas Artes em Atuação e Direção e depois se mudou para a cidade de Nova York para seguir carreira como ator.[2]

Grant interpretou Arianne Marie Beetle nas séries de curta duração Wonderfalls e Pushing Daisies, ambas criadas por Bryan Fuller, e interpreta a personagem de nome semelhante "Marie" em Mockingbird Lane, a reimaginação de Fuller de The Munsters.[3]
Vida pessoal
Grant casou-se com o ator Michael Chieffo em 1984 ou 1985.[4] O casal tem uma filha. Grant vive com sua família em Los Angeles.[2]
