Major:
I’m a Civil Engineering major at UMass Dartmouth. I chose this major because I’ve always been curious about how things are built — bridges, roads, buildings — and I love the idea of creating something that lasts and helps people every day.
Aspirations:
My goal is to become a professional engineer and work on sustainable infrastructure projects. I’d love to be part of a team designing roads or bridges that are environmentally friendly and built to last.
Skills:
- AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D
- Structural analysis and basic surveying
- Project planning and teamwork
- Writing and explaining technical stuff in a simple way
Projects/Accomplishments:
- Helped design a small pedestrian bridge for a class project using recycled materials.
- Worked on a stormwater drainage analysis project around campus.
- Made an iFixit repair guide for one of the tools in our engineering lab.
Repair Experience:
I’ve fixed all kinds of things — wobbly chairs, bike chains, leaky faucets, and even helped friends with small car repairs. I like figuring out what’s broken and finding creative ways to make it work again.
Accolades:
- Dean’s List
Hobbies:
I like biking, sketching bridges and buildings, hiking, and working on random DIY projects. Basically, if it involves tools or building something, I’m in.
How This Project Relates to Me:
I think repair and engineering go hand in hand — both are about solving problems and making things better. Working with iFixit helps me practice explaining technical stuff clearly and reminds me that every repair, big or small, makes a difference.
Fun Facts:
- I drink way too much coffee during finals.
- My go-to comfort food is definitely mac and cheese.
