I am a Junior Electrical Engineering Major with a Minor in Physics at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. I chose to major in Electrical Engineering because I have a background as an electrical apprentice and wanted to push myself to dive further into electrical components. Eventually I would like to use my knowledge that I have gained from UMass Dartmouth to work in development and design, specifically for electric vehicles. I am skilled at working with my hands and troubleshooting circuitry. Something I have built that I am proud of is a lamp that I made my freshman year of high school. It still lights up my laundry room to this day. The main things I have fixed on my own have been minor repairs in my house. For instance, I have replaced broken wall outlets and light switches. However, I would like to learn how to fix smaller electronics. I have training from OSHA in construction safety. I also have received an award from my senior year of high school for Excellence in a Non-Dominant Field from Mass CTE. Currently, I do not belong to any clubs however I plan on reaching out to Society of Women in Engineering. In my spare time I make pottery and other smaller crafts. I also like to go thrifting and learn how to upcycle items to give them new life. The experience this project will give me will benefit me by increasing my experience working in a small group for a long period of time. This will help me to prep for the senior capstone project as well as other projects that may be assigned in other classes. This project will also help by improving the way I write to be more applicable to hands-on explanations.
