Hello, all! My name is Arabela Damarillo (any pronouns) and I am a second-year English major at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Eventually, I plan on becoming an English teacher or professor—specifically a literature professor. I am excited to learn more about technical editing and communications this quarter.
My own personal experience with repairing things comes from watching my dad, who is a computer engineer. Aside from his expertise in hardware, he’s also the man I used to watch whenever some bolts needed tightening or a lightbulb needed replacing. Because of him, I know how to screw that pesky loose screw in the doorway of my apartment. I’m also fairly proficient in lockpicking with hairpins. I may not be fully experienced with handy-work, but I am always open to learning and making both my and others’ lives easier, if I can!

- I really like theatre and musicals! I participate recreationally in Cal Poly’s theatre club, Students’ Stage.
- I used to have a job tutoring at a transitional kindergarten here in San Luis Obispo; to this day, I still frequently volunteer there.
- Cooking for myself is fairly new to me, now that I live in an apartment instead of a dorm. However, it turns out that I love finding new recipes and cooking for my roommates!
