What I hope to learn
I hope to learn how iFixit helps people understand, repair, and extend the life of their devices. I’m interested in how the company provides repair guides, tools, and parts that support sustainability by reducing electronic waste. From this, I want to gain insight into the importance of repair culture and how it empowers consumers to take control of their technology.
For manufacturing technology, I hope to learn how products are designed, built, and assembled. I’m curious about the different processes used in modern manufacturing, such as automation, robotics, and precision engineering, and how these processes impact efficiency, quality, and cost. I also want to understand how manufacturing technology connects to real-world issues like sustainability, supply chains, and innovation.
Overall, I want to see how repair and manufacturing fit together: how products are made, how they can be fixed, and how these practices shape the way we use technology in everyday life.
