Oscar Leyva

Greeting, my name is Oscar Leyva. I am a junior in the University of North Texas majoring in accounting. I am very interested in the field of auditing within the accounting realm. It requires a bit of investigation in order to find out how individuals or business are doing financially or if they have discrepancy.

I transferred from Clover Park Technical College in Washington State. I was pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry and earned a Pharmacy Technician Advance - ASHP/ACPE Accredited Associates of Applied Technology Degree. I had a physical injury that changed my potential to continue in the pharmacy and decided to shift my knowledge and try a new field. From medical to finance. It sounds like a big change but in reality. It almost similar with the way the numbers move. Like a medical personal, an accountant checks for the financial health of a business or individual through problem solving and reports the outcome.

I enjoy playing videogames for one. It is a good way to unwind from mental stress especially when playing games like Helldivers 2 or a RTS genre. My second hobby is working with wood working. I enjoy creating stuff for my house. From book shelfs to outdoor garden beds. it also helps with maintaining some form of physical training. It a great way to release some energy and feel good about creating something useful. The best part about it. It allows me to further invest money into purchasing new tools that I may need in the future. You may never know when you'll need them. My last and final hobby is driving. To some, it is considered a chore. In my mind. This is considered "me time." I have a motorcycle too. The freedom of the wind and sounds while riding can't compare to the average vehicle. You would have to try it to believe it.
