My name is Sav and I am a graduate from UT Austin currently attending Austin Community College to get a few more skills in my toolbox. I am returning to school to study natural resource management and conservation which is also my current job. I work seasonally through Americorps Conservation Corps programs and federally in seasonal biological science technician positions. I hope to work my way into a permanent biological science or resource management position whether that is federal, state, private, or non-profit. If I can ever swing it, I would love to work in wildlife rehabilitation- but that might have to be in 50 years.

As for things I have fixed- I have a lot to learn. I have taken doors off of hinges and build/unbuilt bed frames more times than I care to remember with how often I move- but nothing more than a screwdriver or power drill can't handle. Oh- for 9 months I constantly found and fixed issues with chainsaws for work. I was not qualified to make any permanent "adjustments" but the experience is there nonetheless.

Chainsaws aside, in my free time I love slowly exploring any nature areas near me and watching/identifying birds, bugs, and plants. If the weather is bad, I like to stay inside with my cats and play video games. I almost attempted to repair my nintendo switch on my own using ifixit, but a secondary problem arose that I was too intimidated to fix myself. Funny enough, the repair of the secondary (worse) problem somehow fixed the first problem that I could have fixed myself. Technology remains a mystery to me, but I am excited to be a part of the repair community given our current state of throwaway culture.
