Hello there! My name is Kasey Oliver. I'm a Junior at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, with a major in psychology. I chose my major because I enjoy helping people, and putting others first.
My goal after undergraduate is to go into a graduate program and follow the occupational therapy route. I want to focus on pediatrics, as I enjoy working with kids and do so now at my current job as a childcare employee. I am part of the women's basketball team here at the university.
Here is an image of my basketball team here at UMass this past winter, where we won our first LEC conference title at the university.
Winning a championship this past season has not only reflected on the team aspect of how you view your college experience, but on how proud I am to call this team family. It takes constant focus for a group of girls to work together and never give up on each other, and because of our hard work it resulted in a determination and trust that has shaped me into the person I am outside of basketball and concluded in a successful season.
Here is an image of me at my summer job as a camp counselor. I have worked at the Dartmouth YMCA for 5 summers now.
Working with kids over the past 5 years has been a life changing experience. It has taught me that I too can grow and learn new aspects of life from these kiddos, along with passing knowledge onto them. This aspires me to continue to work with the pediatric population when I start my career path.
