Hi! My name is Jenna Hazelrig and I am a graduate student enrolled at the University of North Alabama. I graduated from UNA in May 2025 with a B.S. in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and a minor in HCI/UX. I am now in the M.A. Writing program on the Technical Writing track.
I've always loved reading and writing. When I was younger I would read books as if my life depended on it, and when I couldn't find stories I wanted to read, I would write them. I eventually grew out of creative writing and gravitated more towards professional writing, which is how I chose my major. As I'm not interested in any sort of engineering, I don't have any experience with repairing anything. I have completed two projects with iFixit in the past, so I'm looking forward to completing another one this semester.
I'm involved with one group on campus called Delight. Delight is a ministry for college women, and I've been involved for about two years now. It's been a great experience for me, and I've met so many amazing women since I joined. We do Bible studies every week, as well as some other events throughout the semester. This photo in particular is from a Valentine's Day party we had during a spring semester and it was a lot of fun! We had lots of snacks, made bracelets, and played games for hours. It's a great community and they have chapters at so many schools in the U.S., so I highly recommend it if you're looking for a Bible study on your campus!
One of my favorite hobbies is reading. If I'm reading for fun I'm probably reading some angsty YA coming-of-age novel or a cheesy romance novel, so naturally my favorite books are all by Alice Oseman. My favorite Netflix show is also the series based off of her popular graphic novel series, Heartstopper. My biggest hobby is definitely going to concerts, I've been to 53 as of right now. I probably spend way too much money on concerts, but they're my favorite thing in the world. The last concert I went to was Hugh Jackman in New York, and I have a Blink-182 concert coming up that I'm really excited about. This photo is from a 5 Seconds of Summer concert I went to in 2023 with my cousin, and it was SO much fun. We've recently made it a tradition to try to go to every 5 Seconds of Summer tour they put on, so that was my third time seeing them and they did not disappoint.
