Hello!

My name is Christopher, and I'm a professor of rhetoric and writing at Cal State LA. Not too long ago, I realized that I've been teaching writing in college for over half my life, as of 2025. Yikes! Sometimes it's difficult to implement community engagement projects because my students live busy lives all over the City of Angels. It's great that they can digitally collaborate with iFixit technical writers.

I found out about iFixit when I went to a printer repair store to ask about replacing the rollers on my scanner. The door had a sign that said something along the lines of "Save $60! Go to ifixit.com before bringing your printer here." I went to iFixit, found a repair guide, and fixed my printer in under half an hour.

My simple pleasures are spending quality time with my daughter, walks with the dog, endurance sports, reading, crafty projects, and repurposing. While my Cardigan Corgi Cwlwm loves to lounge, he is always on the lookout for his next snack. And even though I am a professor of Rhetoric and Writing, I'm really good at swearing.

Shortly after I moved to California, I discovered that one of the best ways to enjoy the state's natural beauty is by running triathlons. Swimming, biking, and running are fabulous ways to experience nature! To stay in triathlon shape, I also do a fair amount of trail running and mountain biking.

Repurposing, rebuilding, and remixing are ways that I give back to the planet. I like to take old items and turn them into something new to give them extra life. I've made some large-scale mosaics on old tables with used bottle caps, made a kayak dolly from a rusted-out hand cart, and sometimes make planter boxes from old pallets, for example.
