Father to one beautiful girl, named Lisa; Husband to one beautiful girl, named Cita. I’m an Electronics Assembler at Bruker in Kirkland, WA. My former role was as a manager and lead tech at a repair shop chain in the Seattle area. There I learned how to meticulously tear down a device, piece by piece, in order to diagnose the problem(s) inside. The owners of that shop at the time didn’t have very many techs who were willing to solder, so I decided to take on that responsibility. These board repairs started as replacing through-hole DC jacks for various laptops, microUSB/type-C charge ports on various devices (not just phones!) and eventually onto more challenging repairs, such as reworking torn traces, missing pads, etc. for most SMD & SMT components. After a few years of experience, I decided it was time to move on to a challenging new role. In April 2023, I was offered a position as an Electronics Assembler at Nion Co. (now Bruker AXS), arguably the world leader in electron microscope production. I assemble electronics boxes, such as power supplies, backplanes, switchover cards, etc. I also build custom-length multi channel cables, such as DSUB, LEMO, SHV/BNC, MOLEX, etc. I’m extremely passionate about soldering, right to repair, equity/equality, and of course spending time with my family.
