Introdução
This teardown was performed to investigate an issue with the autofocus assembly. The lens would regularly loose focus when moved around.
It was found that a little sleeve ring had broken, allowing the focus assembly to slide freely within the barrel.
Instead of writing a repair guide for this (very) specific issue, I have decided to create this generic teardown instead.
I was able to fix the lens with some 3D-printed sleeves, and it has been working ever since.
Still, this is a very challenging undertaking. Many components are interconnected, and highly sensitive.
If you attempt to disassemble your 24-70, be aware that you WILL get dust onto your optical elements, and are fairly likely to break something.
