Introdução

If your Shark Vertex Pro IZ682H vacuum isn’t effectively picking up debris or if the brush roller has stopped spinning entirely, this guide will show you how to replace the brush roller motor belt on the power nozzle.

The brush roller belt drives the roller, helping the vacuum agitate and lift debris from floors. A worn or broken belt can lead to poor suction and decreased cleaning performance. Before beginning this repair, visually inspect the brush roller for obstructions, such as hair or threads, which can sometimes cause issues similar to a worn belt. Make sure the vacuum is powered off and disconnected from any power source.

Follow each step closely to ensure proper belt replacement and restore your vacuum’s performance.

    • Detach the power nozzle from the vacuum and turn it so the right side is facing you. Pull down the blue tab in the direction of the arrow.

    • The brush roller should now pop out.

    • Putting the brush roller in again does not require pulling the blue tab. It should pop in with no problem.

  2. xcObgOCTRwD6p4YR
    • Turn the three plastic locks to the unlocked position, then remove the crevice tool.

    • Use T9 and T15 screwdrivers to remove the seven screws.

    • Use an opening tool to pry along the edges of the casing, then remove the thin plastic coverings on both sides.

    • Expect to hear snapping noises.

    • Pull the plastic coverings off the powerhead.

  4. XjmvrBwTmTHYURjY
    • Remove the six screws using a T15 Torx security screwdriver.

    • Remove the plastic headcover.

  5. MxLaxcZZpP2IE1HR
    • Remove the seven screws using the T10 and T15 Torx security screwdriver.

    • Lift the covering and motor assembly enough to see the belt.

  6. eQyMeiAlVZhx6NGH
    • Remove the belt from the power nozzle.

    • When reinstalling, be sure the belt is tightly secured around the gear grooves.

Good write-up. I had found a way from other YouTube videos how to get to this point at the end of Step 6.

However, there is another belt on the other side of the assembly that is not mentioned or picture, and I have discovered THAT belt to be the problem in my case ---- the belt on other side is too slack as it sits and not taut....the teeth aren't worn on the belt but the belt is slipping as the vacuum tries to operate, creating a clicking sound as the roller brush moves.

So how was that belt tightened or replaced?

Shark really doesn't seem to want anyone to replace the belts. They had rather one to buy another vaccum or take the vacuum to a repair shop for a costly repair. Otherwise, they would respond to your question or show how to adjust the other belt.

Also, one will find that the dust bin must be cleaned using a long wire tipped brush (not furnished) to remove the hair that accumulates at the top and inside of the dust bin.

Thanks for the instruction. It helped, however, I cannot find the brush anywhere that goes to this vacuum (the one that attaches to the belt)

Hey I am looking for the brush. Did you manage to find it or find an alternative?

Yeah, it seems that shark will only sell us the entire floor nozzle, not just the power fins roller. Oh, and when they sell you that entire piece for $100 they don't include the soft brush roller! The nerve of this company. I just want to be able to remove the power fin roller and wash the darn thing. Or heaven forbid I want to clean the dirt on the inside of the top cover. It's just ridiculous. I can't seem to find instructions anywhere on the web for how to remove the power fin roller.
