Introdução

Leather shoes are an investment in your comfort and elegance, not merely a piece of footwear. However, such fine shoes may have wrinkles over time that give them a worn-out appearance. The good news? To fix them, you don't need to purchase pricey equipment or be experienced with DIY. The smooth appearance of your shoes can be restored using a blow dryer, which most of us have at home.

    • Carefully remove the shoe laces from both of your shoes.

    • Use a soft brush or damp cloth to gently clean the surface of the shoe, removing any dirt or dust.

    • The leather should be free of dirt of debris before beginning to work on the creased area.

    • Stuff each shoe with a soft towel or with a crumpled newspaper.

    • By doing this, you are helping to preserve and maintain the shoe’s natural shape while also preventing any further creasing when you apply heat. This will help support the leather from the inside.

    • Use a hair dryer at a low/medium setting to warm the leather until it's pliable.

    • Hold the hair dryer 6-8 inches away from the creased area on the shoe.

    • Once the leather is heated, use your fingertips to gently massage the creased area.

    • This motion will help relax the fibers in the leather, which will help eliminate the appearance of the crease.

    • Heat and massage the creased parts.

    • Use small, deliberate strokes on the creases.

    • Repeat as many times as necessary to achieve the desired outcome.

    • Stop heating the shoes and allow them to cool down.

    • This cooling period is important as it allows the leather to settle into its new, smooth, and uncreased form.

    • You should let them cool for at least thirty minutes.

I am going to try this on my favorite and warmest pair of low winter boots, which are thickly pile-lined. I bought the cream for them last year at a local shoe store for about $7 and no postage charge. Meltonian and Tarranto make excellent creams; get the brand that matches your shoe color! Most people already have a hair dryer, and you can stuff them with newspaper and apply the cream with a folded paper towel. There is no need to buy anything but the cream, and a jar is enough for dozens of uses. The cream restored the finish from having the surface worn off to looking like new. I wear them for dressy now, but nothing else is warm enough for twenty below zero, so I've had to wear them every day, and they have become creased. Hopefully this will restore them and can be repeated when needed! This is the best set of directions I have found on Google.

    • (Optional) You may apply a leather conditioner. This type of conditioner can help keep the shoe’s material smooth.

    • Once you have applied a leather conditioner, you might also want to add a shoe polish, which can restore your shoe’s shine while also increasing protection.'
