The internal assembly is held in the case by snaps running along the middle of the back plate and lightweight glue. Be careful not to insert a flathead screwdriver deep into the top middle of the back plate as it can reach an unprotected spot on the internal battery. The back plate can be removed by gently and persistently prying at a loose spot on the edge and working one’s way around, revealing a protective wall at the back of the internal assembly blocking most of the battery surface immediately behind.
This procedure can then be repeated for the front plate to remove the internal assembly, once the back plate is no longer holding it in place.
