Introdução

In this tutorial, we focus on control board inside the refrigerator volume, not on the power board at the rear bottom. You can eventually explore this board to check the fuse.

    • Be carreful of electrical high voltage ! You can be injured or die. Work at two people, one to manipulate electronics, the second to unplug the power supply if necessary.

    • The refrigerator power plug is connected to the wall but the refrigerator doesn't start. It seems to be powered off.

    • Unplug the power cable. The control board is located inside the refrigerator volume (open the door).

    • To access the control board, remove the moving plastic interruptor located in the red circle. A screw is located under.

    • Unscrew the screw and detach the plastic control block from the refrigerator. You can access the control board.

    • Here is the w10820480 rev B board.

    • Check D104 and D105 diodes. There is varnish over the board to avoid humidity. You have to pass through. In my case, D104 is short-circuited.

    • If diodes are well. Try to plug power cable (be carreful of electrical shock) and test if high voltage is reaching the control board (blue rectangle). Check before and after transformer (orange rectangle). Unplug power cable.

    • Diode identification is quite difficult as there are few indications on it. We can notice some engraving over the plastic body. Attached, I draw what I see on the diode package: S16 diode, SMA package. D105 measurements on a working diode.

    • I replaced the diode by a SR160, which is through-hole package, but there is enough space. SR160 is a 1A / 60V diode.

    • If you have, you can spray varnish over your fix to protect electronics from humidity.

    • Reassemble the control board, plug the power cable. The refrigerator works well now.
