Insert a SIM card eject tool into the hole on the side of the phone, just below the SIM tray.
-
Press firmly to release the tray, then pull it out the rest of the way.

Using the heat gun, melt the glue on the back cover. Be sure to also heat the glue around the fingerprint button (this can be done at the end of this step to make it easier). Heat the glue for a few minutes.

-
Place the suction cup onto the back and squeeze. Gently pull on the suction cup. Meanwhile, insert a prying tool between the back cover and the side to scrape the glue. Slowly remove the back.

Grab the screwdriver. Point the tip of the screwdriver, shaped like a plus sign, at the plus sign on the top of a screw. Insert the screwdriver into the slot and rotate counterclockwise until the screw is loose. Repeat this to unscrew the four screws around the camara lens. Then, carefully remove the lens.

-
Unscrew the eleven screws around the back to remove the mid frame. After that, use a prying tool to slowly pry off the mid frame. Do not poke the battery with anything.
-

-
Unscrew the screws on the black cover below the battery. Wedge the toothpick underneath the cover and gently pry it open.
-

-
There is a small gray rectangle below the battery. Carefully pry it up with the prying tool.
-
-
-
Below the gray rectangle, there are two small wires. One is white, and the other is black. Gently pry up the gold tips of each wire with the screwdriver. Then, pry the wire out of its clasp.

Carefully put the prying tool in the small slot to the right of the charger port and pry it up until it releases. Be careful not to damage the device, because the connector to the left of the charger port is stronger than the other points on the port. It is only adhesive, so just be gentle and keep pulling until it comes off.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Apply new adhesive where necessary after cleaning the relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%). Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
