Introdução

Use this guide to replace the screen protector on your Motorola Razr+.

Your foldable phone's screen is much softer and more delicate than non-folding glass screens. If the screen protector is damaged or peeling, it might need a replacement before it damages the screen underneath.

This guide shows how to replace the protector using an alignment adapter and a film roller.

Note: Some photos from this guide show a slightly different alignment adapter and different color screen protector. However, the guide procedure is exactly the same.

    • Before starting your repair, familiarize yourself with the different parts of the alignment adapter:

    • The top of the adapter has a spring‑loaded adjuster and hooks that align the screen protector.

    • The bottom of the adapter has a charging port holder (held in place by a screw) and alignment posts for the screen protector.

    • Use a 2.5 mm hex screwdriver to loosen (not remove) the screw securing the charging port holder.

    • Completely open your phone and unplug any cables.

    • Place the phone in the alignment adapter so the charging port is near its holder on the bottom edge.

    • With one hand, lift the charging port holder until it's aligned with the port.

    • With your free hand, push the phone so the holder goes into the port.

    • With one hand, hold the bottom of the phone in place so the port holder doesn't slide out.

    • With your free hand, pull the spring‑loaded adjuster on the top of the adapter until the phone drops into place.

    • Check the top and bottom edges of the phone to ensure it's fully seated in the alignment adapter.

    • In this step, you'll create a shim to separate the old screen protector from your phone's screen.

    • Use scissors to cut a small square (about the size of your thumbnail) out of your replacement screen protector liner, just between the two long cutouts on the bottom edge.

    • Slide the sharpest corner of your shim under one of the top corners of your screen protector.

    • It might take a few tries to separate the protector from the screen. If it feels stubborn, cut a new edge on your shim and try again.

    • Have your replacement screen protector and roller within reach—you'll be holding the protector up with one hand and won't be able to let go to reposition or grab a tool.

    • Orient the replacement protector so that the oval cutout is on the top right, and the long cutouts are toward the bottom of the phone.

    • Use a pipette or syringe to apply a few drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) to your screen.

    • Use a microfiber or lint free cloth to wipe away any smudges or dust.

  12. QbUsyI4eKIuHfaQD

    • Hold the replacement screen protector with its liner pull tab facing down. Keep the film facing down to prevent dust from settling onto the sticky side.

    • Peel and fully remove the protective liner from the underside of the protector.

    • During the next two steps, don't set the protector down or wait for an extended period of time—as soon as the adhesive is exposed, it'll slowly attract dust.

    • Make sure no dust settled on your phone's screen since you cleaned it. Any dust or smudges will prevent the protector from adhering. If dust does settle, lift the protector slightly and wipe the screen down again.

    • Slide the top circle and oval cutouts over the hooks on the upper alignment posts.

    • Gently pull the replacement protector over the screen and onto the lower alignment posts. Don't let the film touch the screen just yet.

    • During this step, keep the roller in contact with the screen. If you stop rolling and start somewhere else, creases might form under the protector.

    • Hold the protector tight over the lower alignment posts.

    • Use the roller to firmly roll the protector onto the top half of the screen, starting from the top edge.

    • When you reach the middle of the screen, lift the remaining half of the liner to a 45-degree angle.

    • Increase pressure on the roller and slowly roll across the hinge area of the screen.

    • When you pass the middle of the screen, lower the liner and finish rolling the bottom half of the protector onto the screen.

    • Use the squeegee or a plastic card to press the top and bottom edges of the protector onto the screen.

    • Press around the perimeter of the screen, working out any bubbles toward the edges as you go.

  16. ikrXjURqXS4BRYNW

    GofQYIkV3lZwyfXM
    • Peel the top right corner of the large liner away from the screen to separate it from the screen protector.

    • Make sure the protector doesn't peel up with the liner. If it does, use the squeegee to press it down, or try the other side.

    • Work down the long edge of the screen, peeling up the edge of the liner as you go.

    • Once you reach the bottom of the screen, fully peel the liner off and remove it from the adapter.

  18. ZAHIOsLCsmJDjUMd
    • Use a microfiber or lint free cloth to wipe the screen protector and rub out any streaks or imperfections between it and the screen.

    • Work out any small bubbles by wiping toward the edges. If there are any large bubbles, the screen protector didn't adhere properly and needs to be replaced.

    • Use your squeegee or a plastic card with a cloth to firmly rub along the perimeter of the screen protector to fully secure the edges to the screen.

    • If there are any large creases, especially near the hinge, the protector didn't adhere properly and needs to be replaced.

    • Small imperfections or streaks near the top and bottom of the screen will disappear within a couple of days.

Not sure if I applied too much pressure but my screen broke after replacing the protector. I closed it and it broke.

$40 for a Screen protector kit is to much, and only one screen protector included. So if you mess up the first time you're SOL. The screen protector only lasted two days until it started to come off. Bought another replacement off amazon for $8, came with TWO screen protectors, and so far it has lasted longer then the $40 kit sold here. Would not recommend this kit at all, complete waste of money.

agreed. I was stupid enough to spend another $30 to get just the protector thinking I did it wrong the first time. Nope same thing looks great for 5 days and starts peeling off at the fold

DON'T BUY IT. NOT WORTH IT. WASTE OF MONEY. I followed the exact directions and have air bubbles all over, it is not worth it. $40 plus tax and shipping for nothing but garbage. I made sure to read the directions several times and it screen saver is bad. The screen saver tried to go on crooked and hard to put on. If I could post a picture I would. I thought it would be better than the cheap ones off Amazon but they are by far better than this. The cover didn't fit the phone holder, it would fit one peg or the other on top and bottom but didn't fit one side of both ends. I think that is why it gave me bubbles that I can't get out. I would rather have the original that was peeling off then waste money on this. I will go to another place that has cheaper screen savers that will work. It is the same screen saver as the cheap ones. I can't wait to get a cheaper one that works better!! So, in conclusion I wish I had read these comments before buying. You will still will have to another screen saver. Don't buy this.

This screen saver just ruined my phone. I have a Motorola Razr plus and I followed directions exactly, had tons of air bubbles I couldn't get out and took it off. My phone doesn't work. I have to use small screen on outside as I have a black screen of death where I'm supposed to have dial pad, phone numbers and apps. DON'T BUY IT. I AM P*SSED, PHONE NOT EVEN PAID FOR AND IT'S RUINED. I STILL OWE 2 YEARS OF PAYMENTS ON IT.

WOW! Has anyone successfully performed this screen protector replacement and been happy with the results?  I specifically bought Motorola’s extended warranty because I didn’t trust the folding screen.  When I contacted Motorola, they sent me to a place called UbreakIfix and they made me an appointment.  When I got there the next day, the ‘fixer’ didn’t know about the appointment and didn’t have the parts and whatever tools he needed.  I was totally underwhelmed.  So, I ordered this kit.  I was about to get started when I read these testimonials.  Now I am not sure what to do.  What would you do?

I repeatedly reviewed the user guide and watched a YouTube video many times until I could clearly visualize the entire procedure in my mind. After that, when I actually applied the screen protector, I found that even a beginner could attach it easily and successfully.

As for the tools, I wore ultra-thin rubber gloves (the type used for cooking or medical purposes), as shown in the YouTube video, to avoid leaving fingerprints and to prevent slipping. Before applying the screen protector, I wiped the screen thoroughly several times with a cloth soaked in highly concentrated isopropyl alcohol.

From the YouTube video, I learned that leaving some moisture on the screen before applying the screen protector helps prevent air bubbles from forming. I followed this method, and it worked very well.

When I called an official Motorola repair center in Japan, I was told that the cost would be as high as USD 400. Considering this, this screen protector replacement offers excellent value for money.
