Introdução

If you're experiencing these symptoms, then you need to refresh your Miele CM7 brew unit:

  • coffee is cold and doesn't taste good (too light)
  • water in waste container
  • no water coming out of distribution while rinsing

It's easy, and much cheaper than a brand-new brewing unit!

    • T15 bit must be at least 1.7 inch (4.4 cm) long, and at most 0.3 inch (0.75 cm) thick. T10 bit can be any size.

    • Blower and sharpy (on left) are must-have for cleaning the filters.

    • This is the kit I used. It comes with 3 O-Rings, and some grease.

    • Note: the sharp plastic tool is not provided with the kit, I used it to remove old O-Rings.

    • Push the axle to the right.

    • While maintaining the axle (there is a spring), push the release tab on the handle.

    • Rotate the handle to the bottom of the brewing unit.

    • Release the axle, remove the screw (T10) for the handle.

    • Slide the handle to get it free.

    • Remove 7 * T15 screws, all the same.

    • Pull the upper body upward.

    • You are now with 8 screws: 1T10 (at left) for the handle, 7 T15 for the body.

    • Remove the upper cover and the spring-loaded axle (both may fall when opening the brewing unit).

    • Rotate the brewer to face the upper filter, then pull it (you may need to negotiate with the elbowed pipe).

    • Unscrew the elbow part, remove it, change the O-Ring on the smaller part (the other O-Ring never move and shouldn't need a change!).

    • Using a robust, thin tool, apply pressure to extract the axle. It may pop up, please be ready for it.

    • Extract the lower filter.

    • Clean EVERY hole in the lower filter! I used the sharp metallic tool and the portable blower, a sewing needle and your mouth may do ;)

    • Cleanup the brewer body, taking good care at the hole at the bottom.

    • Using a torchlight, you can check that it is clean.

    • Insert the tip of the axle lever in the filter rod, then push the axle back in place. Note: the emptied parts of the lever are to go to the bottom.

    • Don't forget to put the elbowed pipe back in place!

    • Unscrew the filter, T10 Torx.

    • Also remove the plastic retaining part.

    • Cleanup the upper filter (same method as for the bottom one), change the O-Ring.

    • Ensure that the spring-loaded valve is moving freely (tip: you can gently use your T10 bit).

    • Put back the plastic retaining part and filter in place. Note: the emptied side of the retaining part is to go on the O-Ring side.

    • Change the little O-Ring on the side of the brewing unit.

    • Put the brewer back in place, in line with the top part.

    • Insert the top cover, ensuring that the tab will go in its place.

    • Rotate the brewer clockwise, then rotate the upper axle counter-clockwise to hang up with the brewer.

    • Insert the bottom spring-loaded axle, make sure you insert it the right way round.

    • Take extra care for the rubber part in the top of the brewing unit! It is small, but essential for the operation of the brewing unit.

    • Check the upper cover. It is OK to have the 2 little tips visible.

    • Reinsert the handle, slide it on the axle, fasten the screw. Then rotate it back to original position (then, it shouldn't be able to rotate back).

Did all of the above

Coffee still doesn’t come out intermittently

It dumps it into the waste tray

Hi,
This is probably not a brewer unit problem, but a internal valve.
