    • Turn the mouse over to access the bottom.

    • Using a scalpel, pick, or similar tool, peel off the front and rear soles (slide pads) on the bottom of the mouse. This exposes three screws.

    • Using a Phillips #0 driver, remove the three screws circled in red.

    • Use care to salvage as much of the sole adhesive as possible, in order to reuse it. If, however the adhesive is inadequate on reassemby, contact cement is a good substitute.

    • Carefully separate the two halves of the case. Light prying may be required. If you examine the second photo you can see one of the plastic retaining tabs on the front of the top half. A pick or similar tool prove helpful without marring the case.

    • Remove the three Phillips PH000 screws circled in orange; The PCB can then be removed for inspection and repair.

    • The switch manufacturer is Omron, part number: D2FC-F-7N. The switches have three lead pins, two of which are used.

    • My experience was one switch working intermittently. In such a case, I recommend replacing both the left and right switches.

    • This may be helpful in finding the correct or compatible replacement i.e. online vendors such as AliExpress.

    • What I used as a successful replacement: RS Components Stock No. 682-1519 microswitch. Manufactured by Omron—part number: D2F-F.

I bought maybe 50 of these switches from someone in China. Same switch is used in so many rodents. When a button goes dodgy I replace it. Mostly both. I carry a compact gas iron and solder sucker when on the road and they get used often.

Did the job on my own mouse just tonight. The screws are actually Phillips #000, not #0 as indicated in the guide.
