Introdução

The CMPS is installed on the engine head cover and uses a target wheel installed on the camshaft. The Cam Position sensor is a hall-effect type sensor. As the target wheel passes the Hall sensor, the magnetic field changes in the sensor. The sensor then switches a signal which creates a square wave.

The 1.6L engine has two camshaft sensors; one for the intake and one for the exhaust. The two sensors are identical, so no worries about which one goes where.

Note that internal damage may occur if the sensor is dropped. If it has been dropped, inspect before installing.

Don't remove the camshaft position sensor while the engine is running or when the engine is still hot. The sensor and the engine oil will be hot and can burn you.

Conclusão

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Apply engine oil to the O-ring before installing the sensor.

Torque specifications: 7.8 - 11.8 N.m / 0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m / 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft

Note that most torque wrenches specified in foot-pounds are not very accurate at low settings like these. If possible, use a wrench calibrated in inch-pounds. Use 70-105 lb-in to torque.
