Use this guide to open the Oral-B iO for repairs.
You’ll need the charging station of the Oral-B iO during the opening procedure.

Flip the charging station of your Oral-B iO upside down.

Align the three recesses on the iO's silver bottom cap with the notches at the bottom of the charging station.

Push the toothbrush into the charging station with mild pressure and turn it about 90° counter clockwise to unlock the thread of the bottom cap.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

trotz äusserster Anstrengung will es nicht aufgehen. Hat jemand noch einen Tipp?
Mit heisskleber eine bleistift fest kleben und nach dem abkühlen drehen Deckel und Gehäuse mit wasserlöslichen Stift markieren,dann geht es leichter wieder zusammen.

So ein Mist ... Meine ist jetzt kaputt weil diese Anleitung leider nicht alles beinhaltet!

Der Metallring oben muss weg und wieder richtig drauf.

Mein Deckel läßt sich nicht aufdrehen. Es gibt dafür keinen Ersatz und will es auch nicht mit Gewalt machen.

Heating will help.
I had the same issue. Use a trick found on YouTube. Put the bottom 1-2 cm of the brush into hot water (70-90°C) for 2 minutes (YouTube says 5 minutes). This will soften the grip and the lid will rotate with less force.
In case if you already rotated the lid (let's say 45°) so it is no longer waterproof, but it still does not open: put the toothbrush into a plastic bag, then put such protected lid into hot water.

Leichter Druck hilft vielleicht bei einem neuen Gerät. Bei mir war viel Druck nötig, was die Nasen auf der Unterseite der Ladestation auch etwas beschädigt hat. Nach dem ersten Lösen habe ich den unteren Deckel dann durch Schritt 5 "herausschiessen" können. Im Zuge dessen habe ich die Komponenten (nicht das Innenleben) mit 2/3 Wasser und 1/3 Essigessenz in 3 Minuten in einem Ultraschallreiniger auch noch eben grundgereinigt.

Bei mir war es genauso.
Ging nur 45° aber dann könnte man durch Druck auf die Oberseite den Boden heraus drücken.

The bottom needs deeper groves or taller tabs on the bottom. Mine kept slipping off trying to turn the toothbrush

What did you do, how did you eventually get it open? (My tabs don't stay in the grooves either, they are too shallow and just pop out. Grrrrrrr.) The very first step and already a dead end. Any suggestions?

Damaging of tabs or grooves must be avoided. Use water heating of the lid or "tape protect, then wrench" as seen in other comments.

Das Öffnen mit der umgedrehten Ladestation ist unmöglich.

Habe nun die untere Abdeckung entfernt. Das silberne Endteil habe ich doppelt mit dickem Klebestreifen umwickelt, und mit einer Rohrzange war es dann ganz einfach.

Ich habe meine iO eine halbe Stunde in Essigwasser (etwa 0,5cm hoch) stehen lassen, danach ging es ganz leicht. Vor dem Zuschrauben später habe ich etwas Silikonfett auf die Dichtung geschmiert. Noch kann man die iO jetzt mit zwei Fingern aufdrehen - der Kalk wird sie später wieder schwergängiger machen

ich dachte zuerst, bei mir würde es sich auch nicht öffnen lassen. Hab dann gemerkt, dass es schon ausreichend aufgedreht war und nur noch (kräftig) rausgezogen werden musste. Man hat hier also kein ganzes Gewinde zu erwarten, sondern wirklich nur Haken, die einrasten.

Heat it by hot water as described in comment above. Or, protect it by a few layers of duct tape (to avoid surface damage) and use a pipe wrench to apply strong rotation force.

Yo lo he puesto en agua bastante caliente, de la cafetera, durante 5 minutos, dentro de en un vaso con un par de centímetros de agua, después de eso he podido dar un cuarto de vuelta pero para que salga la parte de abajo hay que apretar la parte superior del cepillo, no sale sola, tiene un muelle en la parte de abajo que se puede caer, ojo con eso
