How to create your own handle for a cheap hand saw

The poorly designed plastic handle is broken. Otherwise, the saw frame is ok and it can serve for a very long time.

My immediate idea was to use two halves of a stronger wood carved by a saw and chisel to accomodate the steel frame.

The two halves may be joined by screws, but I opted for a simple glue.

It takes some time to shape it correctly to fit nicely in the hand. But the result is quite satisfactory and the saw can be used again.

Final result. It does look clumsy, but it is completely usable and with even better grip than before.
