Introdução

Use this guide to factory reset (recalibrate) a newer Maytag washing machine with a dial-style control panel when it isn’t working right, is bouncing excessively, or after replacing a part. The calibration sequence checks that the washer’s components are working together correctly.

    • Set the washer to standby so no lights are lit on the control panel.

    • Remove all clothes, and make sure the tub is fully drained with no water inside.

    • Confirm the washer is connected to power and has working hot and cold water supply hoses.

    • Caution: Keep hands clear of the lid and moving parts during calibration because the lid may lock and the washer may start moving on its own.

    • Complete the button sequence in about eight seconds or less.

    • Press Key 1, press Key 2, press Key 1, press Key 2.

    • Wait for the lid to lock and for all control panel lights to turn on.

    • Rotate the dial clockwise one click.

    • Note: A “Sense” light may turn off and on when you rotate the dial, but it may also stay the same.

    • Press the keys in order: Key 1, Key 2, Key 3, Key 4, Key 5, Key 6.

    • Watch for the panel lights to turn off as you press each key in order.

    • Listen for brief machine noises, then watch for the entire LED panel to blink a few times.

    • Wait about 10 seconds for the lid lock light to flash and for the lid to unlock.

    • Note: Don’t rush this part, because the washer can take a little longer than expected to blink and unlock.

    • Open the lid after it unlocks.

    • Close the lid to trigger calibration.

    • Confirm the lid re-locks and the lights begin running and blinking in order.

    • Let the washer run calibration for about four minutes.

    • Listen for the shifter to run and for water to start as the calibration sequence begins.

    • Wait for the lights to flash off, which indicates calibration is complete.

    • Confirm the washer is in standby with no control panel lights lit.

    • Confirm the tub is empty and fully drained before trying again.

    • Repeat the entry sequence and complete the first key pattern in eight seconds or less.

    • Proceed to check the control board status LED if the washer still won’t enter reset mode.

    • WARNING: Unplug the washer before removing any rear covers to reduce the risk of electric shock.

    • Go to the rear of the washer and remove the screw holding the wire plate cover.

    • Use a T20 Torx driver or a 1/4 inch driver to remove the five screws securing the plate.

    • Move the plate away from the washer to expose the hidden control board area.

    • Plug the washer back in and look for a green LED that should be flashing to show the unit has power.

    • If the green LED isn’t flashing, the washer may not be getting power or the control board may be bad.

Conclusão

If the lid locks, the lights sequence, and the washer runs for about four minutes before the lights turn off, the factory calibration reset completed successfully. If you can’t access calibration mode and the control board’s green status LED doesn’t flash when powered, investigate the washer’s power supply and the control board.
