Introdução

Use this procedure to reset and recalibrate a 2022-present Maytag top load washing machine after replacing a part or when the washer acts erratically (won’t spin, won’t agitate, or behaves inconsistently). A successful recalibration teaches the control how to run the motor, valves, pump, and shifting system correctly.

Ferramentas

    • Remove all towels, clothing, and objects from the washer tub.

    • Close the lid.

    • Make sure the washer is off and no indicator lights are lit near the main control dial.

    • Press the Power button to turn the washer off if any lights are on.

    • Note the number of dials and their starting positions, since some models have fewer dials.

    • Complete the following dial and button sequence in under six seconds.

    • Rotate the temperature encoder dial to its lowest position.

    • Press the Start or Hold to Start button.

    • Rotate the temperature dial one click clockwise, then press Start.

    • Rotate the temperature dial one click counterclockwise back to the first position, then press Start.

    • Rotate the temperature dial one click clockwise to the second position again, then press Start.

    • Listen for the lid lock to engage and look for all the indicator lights to turn on as confirmation.

    • Rotate each control dial once to advance to the next stage.

    • Rotate the dials in any order, but working left to right helps you keep track.

    • Press the Power button so all the indicator lights turn back on.

    • Press the Hold to Start button once.

    • Wait for the lid lock to unlock, then open and close the lid one time so it can relock.

    • Watch for the indicator lights to flash in order, which signals recalibration has started.

    • Listen for the water valves opening and closing, the drain pump running, and the washer beginning to agitate and spin.

    • Let the washer run uninterrupted for about two minutes.

    • Keep the tub empty during recalibration or the routine may be thrown off.

    • Wait for the lid to unlock when the routine finishes.

    • Unplug the washer for 30 seconds to discharge the control, then plug it back in.

    • Confirm the temperature encoder dial matches the intended starting orientation, such as being set to the second position before you begin entering the code.

    • Repeat the code entry and make sure the entire sequence is completed in under six seconds.

    • Turn the washer off before accessing any internal documentation or electronics.

    • Remove the back panel screws and lift off the back panel to look for the technician sheet.

    • Look behind the control board area for the technician sheet, which may list alternate modes and model-specific recalibration information.

    • Plug the washer in and look for a flashing green light on the control board.

    • If the green light is not flashing, the washer may not be working in the first place and the control board could need replacement.

    • Unplug the washer again before reinstalling the back panel.

Conclusão

A successful reset and recalibration is confirmed by the lid lock cycling, the indicator lights flashing in sequence, and the washer running a brief routine that includes valves, pump, agitation, and spin before unlocking. If the washer still won’t calibrate, retry the sequence timing, power-cycle the washer, verify the temperature dial’s starting position, and use the technician sheet for model-specific diagnostics.
