Introdução

Faux leather items, such as purses, can become damaged over time from regular wear, scratches, or pet claws.

This guide shows how to use a leather repair kit to repair a faux leather purse damaged by a cat’s claws. It covers filling and smoothing small holes to restore the surface. A color guide is helpful when mixing repair compounds to closely match the original material. This method works for both faux leather and real leather.

This repair requires patience and can be messy, especially on larger damaged areas. Be sure to work in a well-ventilated area to avoid breathing fumes from the repair paste.

    • Mix the paste from the assorted compounds in the mixing jar with the applicator brush to achieve the correct color matching the faux leather.

    • Use a color guide in the second photo to help find the right colors to mix and achieve your desired paste shade.

    • Using the color guide, select a primary color on the left and a secondary color at the bottom to achieve the desired middle tone.

    • You can adjust the tint of the color by adding small amounts of black or white. Add very small amounts at a time or it can overpower the mix.
