Introdução

Use this guide to open your Maytag vertical-modular washer, retrieve the hidden service sheet, and work through every built-in diagnostic feature. Reading stored error codes, running tests, and performing the required recalibration will quickly reveal most causes of spin, drain, or fill failures without replacing unnecessary parts.

    • Use a quarter inch nut driver to remove the two top screws and the single harness-plate screw marked on the back panel.

    • Pull the lid toward you, lift slightly, then slide it back so the hinges support the top as it tilts open.

    • Apply painter’s tape across the front edge of the lid to keep it from swinging open while the top is raised.

    • Place a wood block or similar support behind the cabinet if the washer is not against a wall to steady the open top.

    • Reach under the front left corner of the raised top and pull out the folded service manual for future code references.

    • Rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it is at the 12 o’clock position, completing one full turn to ensure a clean starting point.

    • Turn the knob right three clicks, left one click, then right one click, pausing about half a second between moves.

    • Confirm entry when all status LEDs flash together in unison.

    • Turn the knob clockwise to cycle in order through Error Code, Automatic Test, Manual Test, and Recalibration selections.

    • Ignore any positions beyond recalibration; they are factory specific and not needed for home troubleshooting.

    • Stop at the Error Code position where only the Cycle Complete LED is lit and press Start to enter code recall.

    • Rotate the knob clockwise to display up to four saved fault codes one by one.

    • After the fourth code, turn once more to make all LEDs flash; hold Start for about five seconds here to erase every stored code if needed.

    • A lit Sensing Fill LED means an F-code; if that LED is off the sequence represents an E-code, combine lit LEDs to build codes such as F0E5.

    • Select Automatic Test and press Start; the washer will cycle all major components in roughly three minutes.

    • If you need the lid open for observation, remove the two Torx screws from the striker and insert the striker into the lock to spoof a closed lid.

    • Opening the lid while the tub is spinning at high speed can cause serious injury or damage; proceed entirely at your own risk.

    • Select Manual Test and press Start to enter, then rotate the knob to the function you want to examine.

    • Press Start to run the chosen action and press it again to stop that action at any time.

    • Choose the lid-lock option first if you intend to run spin or agitation tests because those functions will not work with the lid unlocked.

    • Hold Start for three to four seconds to cancel manual mode and return the control to the off position.

    • Some dial positions are placeholders for future features; verify any unfamiliar combination with the service sheet.

    • From diagnostic root turn the knob four clicks clockwise until only the Rinse LED is illuminated.

    • Press Start to begin recalibration; the washer resets each control parameter and performs a brief verification sequence lasting about two and a half minutes.

    • Wait until every LED turns off before using the machine for normal laundry cycles.

    • Always recalibrate after installing major parts like a shift actuator, lid lock, or control board to ensure proper operation.

    • Lower the lid back onto the hinges, slide it forward into place, and press down firmly.

    • Reinsert the harness-plate screw and the two top screws to secure the panel with the nut driver.

Conclusão

Your Maytag washer is now back in service with all faults cleared, components tested, and the control recalibrated. Keep the technician sheet inside the cabinet for future reference and repeat the diagnostic process whenever new issues arise.
