Introdução

The Dyson filter is located in the ball-shaped base of the vacuum.

    • Start on the left side of the Dyson Ball.

    Please clarify first sentence regarding g location. Left side facing vacuum head on or left side from behind vacuum?

    • Remove the center 18mm screw from the Dyson Ball, then remove the covering.

    • Next, remove the upper right 18mm screw along the perimeter of the circle.

    • Continuing clockwise along the path, remove the next 18mm screw.

    • Remove the next 18mm screw at the lower edge of the circle.

    • Then remove the final 18mm screw in the center. Once these have all been unscrewed, remove the filter with the cover. The filter and the cover should be attached to each other.

    There are two screws to remove at this step; both of them are in the center of the filter, as shown in the photo. You can see the hole that has the second screw in it right above the red circle in the photo.

    I did try to wash mine because I live on a ranch and the dust was so thick that when I rinsed it into my sink, it clogged the screen. I tried to use a shop vac on this filter but it was worthless as the filter was so clogged. It is definitely why the the machine quit working as I am sure it triggered a switch and I could hear the motor power down and quit working. This machine is a pain because it clogs frequently but I have gotten very good and taking it completely apart and identifying the problem. I am 75 so imagine the machines I have had (like a Bosch that almost electrocuted me) so this machine is fairly tolerable (despite all the %#*@ plastic). There is NO EXCUSE for not having replaceable filters because this machine still works but is worthless without the filters!

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. The Dyson has two filters, so if the problem has not been resolved, you may have to repeat this process on the other side.

Can this filter be washed?

No it's not a washable filter and is supposed to last the life of the machine - hmm… still going to get clogged with fine dust though so yif contact Dyson! They don't last and the increased clogging can reduce the life of the motor.
