Este guia mostra como usar a calha de soldagem da iFixit que fixa dois fios elétricos para procedimentos de solda.

Os mordentes da calha de soldagem podem segurar cabos de até 4 mm de diâmetro. Ela possui dois imãs de neodímio na base, o que lhe permite ser fixada em superfícies de ferro. A calha é feita de silicone termorresistente.

    • Mesmo que a solda vá unir os seus fios, se eles forem entrelaçados de antemão, a área de superfície ficará maior, permitindo uma conexão mais resistente.

    • Entrelace os fios uns nos outros. Se os fios estiverem sujeitos a estresse mecânico, considere entrelaçá-los numa emenda elétrica Western Union.

    • Posicione a emenda de fios elétricos no centro entre os mordentes.

    • Com os seus dedos ou a ponta plana de uma espátula, pressione uma extremidade da emenda no mordente.

    • Faça movimentos suaves se estiver manipulando fios elétricos finos, para evitar uma ruptura involuntária.

    • Pressione a extremidade restante no outro mordente.

    • A sua emenda está fixada! Com a sua ferramenta favorita, solde a emenda.

    • Certifique-se de que a solda tenha saturado por completo a emenda. Se a solda não flui na emenda, aplique fluxo na emenda e tente novamente. Se o fluxo não tiver ajudado, pode ser que você precise aumentar a temperatura do ferro de soldar.

    Before you start: If you want to use a heat shrink tube to cover the solder joint, remember to slide it over one of the wires BEFORE you make the solder joint, or you'll have to start over or use tape. Place it a good distance so it doesn't heat up while soldering and seal itself onto the insulation. Make sure the splice isn't sharp after soldering, or it might pierce the newly added insulation either immediately or after some time, especially with friction.

    After making a temporary splice using your preferred method, wet the iron's tip and touch the conductors directly with the tinned part. This is not for making the solder joint, this is for maximizing heat transfer.

    After a bit, touch the solder wire to the conductor as you're still heating it, it should get wicked into the splice and flow nicely in there. Withdraw the iron and let it cool, you will have completed the joint.

    If the insulation melts too much before the solder flows into the joint, you should try adding flux and/or raising the iron temperature

Don’t twist the wires together, clean them with IPA, tin the wires and lap solder or do a hook and loop or a lap/lash splice. David, Master IPC trainer
