Background Information
Announced on November 12, 2025, alongside the Second Generation Steam Machine and the Steam Frame, the Second Generation Steam Controller brings a modern and refined take on Valve’s hallmark game pad. It features two 34.5 mm square trackpads with haptic feedback and pressure-sesitive click streangth simmilar to the Steam Deck. These work alongside two full-size magnetic (TMR) thumbsticks with capacitive touch for reliable, drift-resistant control and intuitive thumb detection.
This controller is designed for SteamPCs, Steam Deck, Steam Frame VR, and more, providing a versatile and deeply configurable controller experience.
